Theoretical Cosmology (astro-ph, hep-th, hep-ph, gr-qc)

The Cosmology and Theoretical Astrophysics group of the Physics Department at the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics (FCFM), University of Chile, invites applications to fill several postdoctoral positions in cosmology, starting as early as March 2013 for a period of two years (extendable to a third year).

The appointments will be part of the project "Testing Fundamental theories through cosmological and astrophysical observations" (ACT 1122 funded by CONICYT) recently awarded to the Physics and Astronomy Departments of the FCFM, which includes collaboration with the Atacama B-mode Search (ABS) Team based in the Physics Department at Princeton University. The selected candidates are expected to conduct research on theoretical and/or phenomenological aspects of early universe cosmology, including a wide range of topics such as cosmic inflation, CMB physics, and structure formation.

The program contemplates salaries comparable to international standards, with additional funds for travel and basic equipment. Applicants are advised to visit both, the Physics and Astronomy Departments' web sites: http://www.dfi.uchile.cl and http://www.das.uchile.cl.
